Prolactine is een peptide hormoon gesecreteerd door de adenohypofyse en speelt een belangrijke rol bij de initiatie en instandhouding van de lactatie in de postpartumperiode.
Hyperprolactinemie kan aanleiding geven tot infertiliteit (amenorrhoea bij vrouwen, impotentie bij mannen)
Verlaagde waarden:
